Essential topics to focus on Reasoning Section of IBPS Clerk 2018 Exam

IBPS Clerk 2018 Exam is going to be conducted in the month of December 2018 which needs a thorough preparation of all the sections. IBPS Clerk Prelims has three sections these are English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. Out of the three Reasoning is one such subject which is new to the graduates as it is not the part of the curriculum. English and Mathematics are the integral part of secondary education and for some it is till graduation. It depends upon the stream they have opted to study.
Reasoning is a scoring section as it comprises of puzzles which needs presence of mind and practice of the topics on which quizzes are based. Therefore if you prepare the topics well then you are sure to score well in this section. There are certain topics which need a special focus as they are asked frequently in the exam these are:

§  Order and Ranking:

This topic is less time consuming and if prepared thoroughly it will reap good score. Generally the questions based on this topic are easy and simple. Practice the topic well by taking lot of topic tests and questions from the previous year question papers.

§  Machine Input-Output:

Last year this topic had 5 questions in the preliminary exam. It is not a small number therefore this topic needs lot of practice to master it.

§  Puzzles and Seating Arrangement:

Puzzles and seating arrangements are the major topics of reasoning section. Seating arrangement includes topics like linear, circular, triangular, rectangular and hexagonal, floors, tabular form, blood relations etc. The questions asked from this topic are complex especially with 4 variables. Therefore it is important to master the questions based on 4 variables to enhance the speed of solving such questions. Give more emphasis to seating arrangement and blood relations questions by giving a regular practice. Join online test series and attempt one topic test and manage your shortcoming accordingly.

§  Inequalities:

It is an easy topic and 5 to 6 questions are asked based on inequalities. It includes questions where quantities need to be compared with statements based on it. One has to choose the right statement which needs mental aptitude which comes with practice and presence of mind. Practice enough to reach the mastery level.

§  Syllogism:

Generally 6 to 7 questions are asked on this topic. In this topic questions have conclusions and statements. It is an easy topic one need to practice this to enhance the speed as it covers more questions in the section. Take one topic test per week on this topic and judge your speed of solving the questions.

§  Logical Reasoning:

This topic has questions with cause and effect, course of action, strength of arguments, inferences, assumptions, conclusions etc. Around 5 to 6 questions are asked and the level of questions is from easy to moderate. Practice will help you solve the questions without devoting much time. Solve at least 50 questions after learning the topic to reach the mastery level.

§  Coding-decoding:

Coding and Decoding is an easy topic and 5 questions are expected from it. Practice old and new pattern of this topic taking the help of online test series portal of any reputed brand. Practice both the patterns as there may be a possibility of getting any of them in the exam.

§  Data Sufficiency:

The level of the questions on this topic is from moderate to difficult. More than 4 questions are expected in this secti0n with statement and conclusions.  It needs good practice which one must do it from the previous year question papers to know the level of difficulty and follow the same.
